Prologue

I’m not very good at getting started.

In fact, I’ve gotten up and done four unnecessary tasks since typing that first sentence.  Two of those tasks were cups of coffee and two were the resulting bathroom breaks.

It feels like a lot of pressure to call this my first post.  Instead, I’m calling it a “prologue” because it’s more of a teaser to my future content than anything else.

And what might that future content be?  I’m newly minted out of my undergraduate fiction program and have an insatiable need to see the world.  So I’m anticipating thought pieces, travel writing, flash fiction, baseless brainstorms, and too-honest accounts of my life as a confused twenty-something.

If any of that appeals to you, stay tuned for more!

I’m told people like pictures to break up the text, so…

here’s a windswept, blinking Sydney who’s as unprepared for this picture as she is for real life.

Here’s to prologues, because they let you try starting one way before you even start at all.

  1. “So I’m anticipating thought pieces, travel writing, flash fiction, baseless brainstorms, and too-honest accounts of my life as a confused twenty-something.” ~> You sound suspiciously like myself LOL. I like the idea of a prologue to the blog. And I look forward to what you have to share 🙂

P.S. Love the theme! I had Sela for a while before I changed to my current theme. Your blog is making me nostalgic lol
